Need to reinstall graphics drivers after every reboot.

I have seen several things in the forum that are somewhat like my problem, but they are all different in some ways. No solutions I've read have helped so I guess I'll post my problem.

So, my friend got a Gateway GT5628 with the intent to upgrade it and make it into a very cheap gaming pc. I helped him replace the cpu cooler with a Cooler Master Hyper T4, replaced the PSU with a Corsair CX500, added in a Rosewill PCI-E wifi card, and added in my old GTX 560 ti which was working when I pulled it from my PC.

I installed the newest Nvidia drivers for the graphics card, and it worked like a charm! ...until I turned the PC off to return it to his house. When it was turned back on, Minecraft would only run at about 5 FPS or lower, many times being barely able to run at all. I quickly assessed this as a driver problem, and installed the Nvidia 314.22 driver as it was recommended to be the most stable for a 560 ti. It once again worked great, and I was satisfied and left. He then called me later that day to inform me it was having lag. (he is a severe computer noob.) I went over once again to find it was having the driver problem once again due to him having rebooted the PC, and I installed the newest driver one final time. It worked until the computer was turned off and on again. Nothing I try will keep the driver working after a reboot. Sniper Elite V2 also has this same problem, I'm saying this to make sure you guys don't say it is a problem with just Minecraft.

This is all on a basically brand new install of Windows Vista SP2.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm really at my wit's end with this computer and I really need any help you guys can offer.

Thanks a lot

Has there been any issues with other things not 'sticking', like the time? If so, you may want to change the CMOS battery. Although I can't wrap my head around any reason that would cause the driver to fail after every re-boot.

Have you run a virus scan? Malware scan?

There is no possibility of virus since it is a brand new install of windows and I hadn't downloaded anything except for the graphics driver from Nvidia's website. I haven't noticed any other problems other than the driver. Thanks for the reply

Ok, so I had used Display Driver Uninstaller from guru3d yesterday. It had seemed to have worked. Well, I guess it did. Today when he told me it was "lagging" I guess it was because he was having something run in the background ( like I said, noob.) He didn't know that computers can't do unlimited multitasking so when whatever he was doing finished, I restarted the computer and everything works fine. Working with computer noobs can be so hard sometimes >.<
