Last night a fuse blew/circuit breaker tripped and my computers shut off. One survived... the other not so much. When I go to boot it up it gives me that "USB over storage device detected error". I thought at first, oh darn must have screwed up a USB port, no problem, I can fix that. Unplugged all the wires connecting the the front ports on the mobo, and everything out the back. Still getting the error. Took a better look at my motherboard and one of the conductors is sideways, perhaps it blew? I have also tried removing the BIOS battery.

Solution
If something on the mobo blew, it could well lead to something else blowing or failing which could damage additional components (GPU, CPU, DRAM, etc) if it leads to a short across the board
