So guys i need some help. I'm getting the i7 4770k, Asus Maximus VII Ranger and the H100i cooler. I'm getting a hard time finding a simple and elegant case for these components since i've been reading some compatibility issues when it comes to the H100i. I like some of the Corsair cases like the 230T/200r or 330r, since they're pretty simple. I also would like it with a window to see the mean machine while playing, i think you guys understand. ;) But these options have those types of issues. So since i'm pretty new at this stuff and i would really appreciate the option of pros like you guys in finding a case where i can fit my MOBO and the H100i without any issues. :) Sorry for any english mistakes and i thank you in advanced for your time. Have a nice day guys!

I'm in the market for a new one too.

I'd suggest you tell the pc case masters, lol xD... what form factor (size put into categories) your motherboard is, along with preferences such as:

- What size category do you want your case to be? (Small, midi/mid or full tower case/ full tower gaming case)
- What is your price range? Cuz if your going for full tower the cheapest I could find was £65!!! (I decided to up my budget for a better one)
- How many PCI-E slots does your motherboard have? Do you need just enough expansion slots for pci express ports or are you going to be using usb type expansion cards.
- How many Hard drive/ disc drive trays do you need?
- Do you need it to be extra wide to accommodate any graphics card size? (never mind you answered that :) )
- Do you want noise suppression/ a quiet case.
- Top or bottom cooling unit case? Top for convenience or bottom for better air flow and hence better cooling (I'm guessing you go for the latter based on your description).

I'd suggest if you want a budget case stay away from full tower cases needed for e-atx and xl-atx (though some small amount of midi-tower cases can just fit them).

If your going for an e-atx mobo case then I myself am looking at:
http://Link

If it's a standard atx mobo then:
http://Link 2

you can get cheaper atx cases though.

You are right man, i apologize, im new at this stuff. Like i said before, my mobo Is the Asus Maximus VII Ranger so i believe it is a standard atx mobo, not sure cuz i understand absolutely nothing about pc stuff lol im still learning. I would like a mid tower, with a good airflow and if it does not make a lot of noise even better. My price ranger is about 80 to 90 € (75£). And im getting one western digital 1tb and a standard Asus DVD Drive. Im not sure what mean by PCI-E slots, but ill leave you a link for a pic of the mobo (http://70294212.r.lightningbase-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Asus-Maximus-VII-Ranger-Specs-and-Price-Philippines.jpg). And im getting two rams of 4 gb each. When i comes to the cases im looking for something more simple and plain, with straight lines like those i mentioned and the ones linked by legend on top. I hope this helps, sorry if its not much but im still trying to learn but thank you so much for the help.

I really, like REALLY, like the 330R but i would like it with a window. I'll probably go for the 450D, its a bit more expensive but has a window and its pretty simple, like i want it. And all these cases are compatible with the Asus Maximus VII Ranger and the H100i. Probably are cuz you read my post but i gotta make sure bud, sorry. But thanks for the options, saw some pretty good ones. :)

well if you want to go with the 450D, i'll actually recommend the NZXT H440, it has several colour options and is almost the same price as well or you could also go with the Fractal design define r4, i didnt mention this one because the h440 kinda beats it in every possible way. For that price, the h440 is probably the best simple looking case you'll get, and it also supports the h100i

I actually like the h440, my only problem is the red outside the case. I would love it in all black. But its a cool case.

well the h440 is available in different colour combinations http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/143-h440-performance-mid-tower.html ...you can have
white with black trims
black with red trims
black with blue trims
black with orange trims
black with green trims
or have the razer h440 which is all black with hints of razer's signature green colour http://www.razerzone.com/designedbyrazer

EDIT: btw, the h440 DOES NOT have any 5.25" bays so you wont be able to fit any optical drives in there, you can use external drives though

I'm a noobie here too, also building my 1st rig. No need to apologise :) you provided much more info than the standard user asking about a case.

Since your motherboard is atx (a standard 12 inch x 9.6 inch size, handy as some motherboards that are a certain form factor can variate in length and width).

I would defo recommend a midi-case as a full tower case (just a few extra inches at the end) isn't needed. Hence, you can get them ALOT cheaper/ better bang for buck.

PCI-Express slots are the slots used for expansion cards - e.g. graphics cards, wifi+Bluetooth cards, extra usb ports card, External Serial ATA data port, audio cards (pretty redundant these days as mobos like yours have integrated audio ports - unless you want to further reduce strain on the cpu (don't need to be worried about this) etc.

Good luck :)

lol I know what you mean xD. There is the Win GRone Gunmetal Grey which I LOVED the look of, but it's features weren't as expandable (in PCI-E Slots) and are a good bit louder than the likes of the Aerocool X-Predator.

The WIn GRone had much more front exit trays (then I realised that the extra ones from the half mark and down in the Win GRone weren't necessary as they would be holding storage drives) but in the end I went for the Predator.

Try to make sure that you pick the one with plenty of the features you (e.g. no. of fans, loudness, Front Trays, PCI-E Back Slots), while you like the design.

Don't solely pick a case on ecstatic's, it's all a balancing game.
