Building a new gaming machine.
Are these parts compatible with each other.

PROCESSOR: 4790k-i7 -$339.99

HARD DRIVE: SSD Samsung 840 pro 512GB -$375.99

GPU- EVGA Geforce Gtx 770 GDDR5 4GB -$399.99

MOTHERBOARD: Asus P8Z77-V-Pro LGA 1155 Intell Z77 Sata 6Gb/s -$193.50

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8Gb DDR3 1600 Mhz -$84.99

PSU: Corsair TX850 Enthusiast series 850 Watt -$129.95

If these parts do mesh well, then what would be a good case/cooling system? i am trying to go with as small as a case as possible without burning my parts up. any other advice would be appreciated.

Solution
Instead of these(if you meant these anyway): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345
get these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233196

Because your ram may be interfering with your cpu cooler, the tall one, the sorter one won't. The keyword here is 'may', but it's better not to take chances. Plus there is no performance increase/decrease between these two memory sticks.

And it's a winner with both the gigabyte and the asus motherboard. You can go with either one of them, if you like asus go with the pro then.

The cpu won't fit on that motherboard, you should look for a LGA 1150 socket motherboard. ASUS Z97-Pro is the equivalent of your selected motherboard(this will work).
For a cpu cooler, a Cooler Master Hyper212 Plus is a great one, keeps your cpu temps low when overclocked(Better go with low profile rams).
About the case. Depending on a budget look for cases like these:
- Cooler Master HAF 912
- Corsair Carbide 200R
- Corsair Graphite 230T
Btw, that power supply is overkill for the system(If you're gonna use these parts only). You can cut it down to a 550-650W model.

Well i just want to start by saying thanks guys for quick responses.
Both your Motherboards you suggest look like great buys. However, it looks like the ASUS Z97-PRO puts out alittle better performance/Functionality for gaming then the GIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper Z97. Would i be right to say that or are they both pretty much par?

You said " better go with low profile rams", what did you mean by this?

Oh i see what your saying, okay ill for sure go with the smaller stick. Now, i have one last question. Is that overall a good setup for gaming/future Operating systems and gaming? or am i going waaay to extreme in any other area's besides the power supply?

I have done a lot of research since and you are right it would have been a bit overkill. Do to budget constraints i had to find a better build setup and i am finally ready to buy the parts finally. Maybe you could give me your opinion on this one. The only thing that really bugs me about this build is the Case. Although this case got great reviews, I wish it had 3.0 usb ports and more of them. Two ports wont cut it.

Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor - $179.99

Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard - $139.99

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory - $84.99

Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive - $73.99

Asus Radeon R9 270 2GB DirectCU II Video Card - $159.99

Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case - $53.99 = Better option?

Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply - $119.99

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer - $16.99

Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) - $90.99

If you're going with a non-K CPU, you can get a H97 motherboard instead to save costs.
Also, that power supply is pretty expensive. You can get a lower wattage one or a cheaper one(same wattage) too.
And why did you downgrade the GPU? That's the most important thing in gaming builds.

Basically the first build was an over-bloated monstrosity that was never going to get built due to budget constraints. So i started a new build that i could actually afford. I went with the motherboard for future upgrade purposes (new CPU's coming out in 2015). I also liked that motherboard because i have the option to go SLI or Crossfire if i wanted to. The power supply had unbeatable reviews and had a good wattage for possible duel video cards. I downgraded the card because for now the r9 270 will run the games i want to play fine and it keeps me within budget. Once i have more cash i can sell that card and get something better.

However my main concern is still the case only having two usb 2.0 ports. Now, how does that work with my motherboard? This is my first build so i have no idea how these parts go together yet. This is probably the biggest rookie question in the world, but here it goes. Becuase that motherboard has integrated ports, do the ports like the VGA, Hdmi, usb just stick out of the back of case or do i have to buy a case that has all those ports on the back?

The case has two USB ports right? Those will be connected on the internal motherboard connector. The case has a cable for it.
On the back, the motherboard has it's own external connectors(HDMI, USB, Ethernet) those will just stick out in the back of the case.

^ See the top cutout, that's where the motherboard's IO panel will come out of.

There is also another nice budget case, which has two USB3.0 ports and also
Antec GX500 ATX Mid Tower Case ($57.98 @ Newegg)

If you ever want more USB ports in the front, you can get a card reader for cheap.

Oh ok, so all in all it sounds like the haf 912 will work alright with my build. That other case is nice but its 20 bucks more on amazon right now and i have amazon gift cards i'm trying to use up. So unless you tell me the antec GX500 case is drastically better i might stick with haf 912.

Well thanks sir, you have been more then helpful. I think this build will suffice and has plenty of room to grow. Guess its time. I'm heading to go order parts now.. finally!
