Graphic card Crash/Artifacting in only one game

Just a quick question here. One game in particular (Survarium) seems to cause my screen to fill up with colored lines like my graphic card was dying. The game is in early Alpha and it's the only game where this happens so far, needing a reboot to get my graphic card working normally again.

Can this be solely because of the game, or is my card dying?

Solution
I still think it is the game, BUT I have seen Monitors and video cards do strange things. Do you have another good, working monitor you can try? Or borrow?
It could be a minor heat issue with the PC or video card; try running the game with the side panel open and a fan blowing into the case; A friend had a weird problem with his display and it was solved by increasing the GPU fan speed AT IDLE.
And just to eliminate the graphics card as the actual problem, can you borrow another card and try the game and PC with that?
If you are able to do these things, do only one at a time: If the other monitor has the same problem as your monitor, then your monitor is probably o.k., then try the other good video card.

Do the artifacts remain if you open another program, say Word or a browser? Do they show up if you are streaming a movie? Do they remain after you close the other program, browser or movie stream?
