AMD system woes, Need help with catalyst settings

Hi everyone, My PC is about 4 years old, used mainly for gaming and music recording. it has always run OK. but my CPU gets really hot whenever gaming. I also get some frame tearing. its not that terrible of a system, but i feel i have some type of setting with the graphics that could improve my performance and look. A friend of mine who has an older system, runs games much better. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks!!

Solution
Take the card out and clean the cooler as well apply fresh thermal compound. If all else get a decent aftermarket cooler that is much better than the stock cooler and never worry about the issue again. A good cooler can run $50-75 easy but in the long run are good investments, some coolers can be made to last for many years on multiple cards.

i have an aftermarket cooler, but i used the cheap paste. my case is set up for water cooling, do you reccoment the corsair cooler? if not, what cooler do you recommend?
