Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting on the forums. I have currently built my first desktop, however I never get to the bios screen. I went through all the sicky threads that give tips/ check list of troubleshooting tips. I tried all the tips and still the same effects - no beeping, no signal, no power to keyboard and mouse. So, I tried "breadboarding." I plugged in only the cpu and heatsink/fan to the mother board as well as the case speaker. I plug the 24 and 8 pin power cord to the motherboard. When i turn the power on, the cpu fans starts up and the Motherboard light stays solid green. However, the keyboard/mouse lights flash for a second then no light is emitted (i'm assuming it isnt getting power).

Build:

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Processor: intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

PSU: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

I don't know if my CPU or Motherboard is defective. Anyway I can test this? I don't have another desktop to swap parts.

are you sure no cpu pins got bent even slightly? most computers when going though the bios will flash the keyboard lights when it powers up the keyboard port. also I notice when you said u breadboard u didn't mention 1 ram stick, you did install a single ram stick right if not computer will not post.

Yes, sorry, I did insert 1 RAM stick where the manual indicated. I re-opened the CPU and saw there was 1 pin that seems off. It is slightly bent, but quite unnoticeable. Does this mean I should return the motherboard for a new one?
