Hi

I create my computer images with Macrium Reflect 5 Standard. I was wondering how fast it would be to image a drive with OS and Programs on it to another SSD. I must be blazing fast for sure.

My images range between 15GB and 20GB in size and take about 8 minutes to complete.

Would anyone be willing to share their experiences when imaging a SSD boot drive into another SSD ? I am planning on getting SSD's soon.

Thank You

Cloning solid state drive can be done, however, the general consensus is that it is not a good idea. When cloning, the image has a good chance of not mounting right. This can cause your system to fail, lose performance, etc. As such, it is best to simply do a clean OS install on the new ssd, then simply migrate your data.

Where are you getting this from? Is that data recent?
If a non-sector-by-sector clone is done there shouldn't be any issues. Depending on the software used the realigning will happen automatically if needed. If not, it can be done after the cloning.

Drivers shouldn't be an issue since the controller is the one that needs them, not the ssd.
