GPU upgrade leading to PSU upgrade?

Hello everyone, I have an interesting doubt I'll be glad if someone could answer... I - at the moment - have this rig:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4570
Mobo: ASUS B85M-G
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyper-X
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD7790 1GB Dual-X Edition
SSD: Samsung 840EVO 120GB
PSU: Sentey BRP 600W

And that's pretty much it. No optical drive, or other stuff inside it.
The thing is, I'm looking forward updating my GPU to a Sapphire R9 270X 2GB Vapor-X Edition, and I was wondering if my PSU will be able to digest it. I'm not gonna OC it, nor I had OC'd the CPU, so I'll keep everything stock-like.

The Sentey will have issues not due to 600 Watts label but the the fact that it probably only provides 350 to 400 watts.

Antec HCG 620m $65 after $20 instant coupon

XFX TS 550 $60
www.amazon.com/XFX-ATX-550-Power-Supply/dp/B004RJ8EKI

Both of these are made by Seasonic and comes with a 5 year warranty. The HCG 620m is semi modular and only $5 more. I own both of these since they tend to have good sale prices.

So basically, what are the odds of my computer exploding if I put that GPU on?
By the way, how come my PSU it's not real "600W"? Can anybody explain?

Since the power supply's quality is bad, it will degrade faster and it isn't even providing the stated wattage so the 270x might run but not for long and I can run a 260x which is an OC version of the HD 7790 on the Corsair cx430 but I wouldn't try to run the 270x on the cx430 which is probably higher quality and wattage compared to the sentey 600.

Also I have never heard of good power supplies killing other components when it dies. All my other components are cheap, the only good components that I have currently are the power supplies since I am waiting for the 270x and 280 to drop to around $100 after rebate in 2 years while I use my 260x's that have a 2 year warranty.

Would you recommend a Thermaltake or NZXT PSU?

Both Thermaltake or Aerocool aren't good and the prices aren't that different from the Antec and the XFX. Can you wait until you have enough money for the PSU and the GPU? There won't really be a world of difference in terms of performance aside from playing the games at higher settings.

The thing is, I can't find those brands where I live... No Antec or XFX or Corsair... My options are Seasonic, Cooler Master, Thermaltake, Sentey, Aerocool, and NZXT :/

I've read in this post (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1864497/psu-recommendation-gpu-upgrade-270x.html) that for a system using a single AMD Reference Design Radeon R9 270X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

I went to the box of my PSU and found out that the maximum combined of +12V rails is 36 Amps (2 x 18A), so technically, I will be able to run it... Wont I?

I'm from Argentina, and my shop website is basically the Argentinean version of eBay (owned by eBay) called MercadoLibre (http://mercadolibre.com.ar). And yes, it's in spanish, so I doubt you'll be able to help me with that

That's not what the post I quoted above says...

"For a system using a single AMD Reference Design Radeon R9 270X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors."

It says maximum combined. Besides, the PSU you recommended has 2 12V rails of 20A each, it's not a single 40A 12V rail

I agree about Seasonic being better, but my point was that apparently I will be able to run that GPU with my current configuration no matter if the other PSU is better or not

I never said that it was a good power supply, only that "apparently" it will run okay with the R9 270x. That PSU you showed me, on the other side, will be the next component I'll buy for my computer after the GPU. Thank you for helping me
