Intel Core i5 4460
ASUS Radeon R9 270X DirectCU II TOP 2GB
ASUS B85 PRO GAMER Motherboard
Kingston Hyper X Fury HX316C10FRK2/8 8GB (2x4GB) Red
Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001

Solution
It depends on different games. I don't time how long I take to boot games because they generally don't take too long. But since you can afford a R9 270x, then a SSD wouldn't stop u from getting 40+ FPS in most games.

The Asus B85M-E uses the exact same layout as the Asrock B85M Pro4, but like I said, the Asus board has less fan connectors.

The Asus B85M-E has

> 1 PCIe 3.0 16x slot for your graphics card , but the PCIe 1x slot just below it would be blocked by your GPU

> 1 PCI slot for older cards, or maybe a sound card
> 1 PCIe 2.0 16x slot ( running in 4x mode ) for a crossfire setup, or simply, another wireless adapter or something

I don't recommend crossfire though.

As for the fan connectors it has,

> 1 4-pin CPU fan...

Antec HCG 620m $65 after $20 instant coupon
www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371059

XFX TS 550 $60
www.amazon.com/XFX-ATX-550-Power-Supply/dp/B004RJ8EKI

Both of these are made by Seasonic and comes with a 5 year warranty. The HCG 620m is semi modular and only $5 more. I own both of these since they tend to have good sale prices.

Here are some ways you could improve your build,

> Swap the Asus B85 Pro Gamer for a Asrock B85 Pro4. The Asus board has a lot of features that you won't really need.

> Get WD Blue instead, and also re-consider 2 TB. 2 TB is A LOT of space.

As for the PSU, @Pondering gave you some great options.

Seasonic makes the best PSUs, but not all of them are Haswell certified.

Seasonic M12ii 650w Evo,
Corsair AX series,
EVGA Supernova G2/P2 ,
Coolermaster V series,
Rosewill Capstone 550w

are all Haswell Certified and of very high quality

Asrock's motherboards always has more fan connectors, so if you really need them, and if you need more slots, then the Asrock B85 Pro4 is perfect for you. It should be around 70 usd.

Asus' motherboard are usually of higher quality, and they have a better UEFI. They have a lot of nice software features, but physically, not as many.

My WD Caviar Blue 500GB ( HDD ) would boot Windows 7 in more or less 30 secs, and my Samsung 840 Evo 120GB with RAPID mode enabled and tuned for Maximum performance, boots in more or less 5 secs. Honestly, I don't feel that the price for a small SSD is worth. I could go grab a drink while waiting for the PC to boot.

As for the fan connectors it has,

So you can only connect 2 case fans to your motherboard. But you can also connect more fans to the power supply using an adapter.

The Asus B85M-E is a great motherboard, but for $70, you could get a MSI Z87 motherboard

The most significant difference would be colour and chipset. Obviously, it looks better with its Blue theme, and it is using the Z87 chipset.

The Z87 chipset supports CPU and RAM overclocking, and also accommodates more slots. Basically, it's Intel's high-end chipset.

The CM N400 has great airflow and a variety of fan mounts. Nothing wrong with it, but the Tt Black commander looks a little better. I'd choose the N400 instead
