concerns of a beginner on cpu fans

hello everyone, i'm building my first computer here in Brasil, and when i was finish installing the CPU fan of my i7 4771 i realize that i had put the fan in a not so good orientation, i then took it of and put it again, no big deal, the problem and my concern is... when a took it of a was able to see that the thermal compound had already spread over the cpu surface and i'm thinking that this should give me problems in the real effectiveness of the thermal paste, should i really be concern or i'm completely wrong...

The problem you could face is that when you put the cpu cooler back on the thermal paste, you may have created air bubbles, which would be a problem.

Your best step is to look for the average temperatures that people with your cpu are getting when idling and when under load and compare these to the temperatures that you are getting. If your temperatures are much higher than others, than you will need to remove the cooler, clean both the cooler and the cpu with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and then reapply thermal paste and the cooler.
