Hi. I have an AMD FX-4100 processor and a ASUS M5A78L-M LX (AM3R2) motherboard.I'm planning on buying an Asus AMD/ATI HD 5450 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card. The problem is my friend says that the heat generated by the processor and motherboard is more and installing a graphics card will overheat and melt my CPU. Should i install a cooling fan or not?

Please Help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahaha, your friend is joking.

Or at least I hope he is :l

Also, why are you buying an old low end card?

It won't overheat anything. You are fine. What kind of case is it in? PSU? CPU?

It won't overheat, and your friend has no clue what the heck he is talking about and it is probably best to just ignore him and use the internet for your answers instead (this is for the sake of not damaging your PC or being completely misinformed whatever the case may be).

Also, are you saying you have no fans in your case?

I have no fans in my case. but there is a sufficient ventilation for my motherboard and processor in the case

Ventilation wont do anything. You need a front or bottom intake (preferably filtered), and one rear or top exhaust fan

Also, what games are you looking to play?

I would try to save up more on the GPU, and also, make sure you don't have a really cheap and poor power supply, otherwise, you can kill your PC.
