I have a dell inspiron 530,before a few days I had this problem where the computer, when switched on starts up only after 3 goes(it turn on n off for twice) before it starts up,but after that I don't get any display in the monitor,it just abruptly goes into power save mode, but i could hear windows starting up,but couldn't get the display at any point..so i had to switch off the computer and try it again, but the problem was fixed after a while. But I have no idea how..I'm having the same trouble as i mentioned above today, but even after several attempts, the monitor fails to display anything..I have no idea what the problem might be..Pls help

Solution
I would turn off the computer and unplug it. Open the side panel and remove the ram sticks with the little levers. Then put them back in and try it out again.
this could be a whole variety of reasons.

I have one of the mid-tower Inspiron 530 (non slim version) in another room.

Do you a PCI video card installed or are you using the onboard video card?

Turn on power and unplug it.
If using the PCI slot, reseat the video card by removing it and then putting it back in, the card and the cables.

While you are in there, reseat the memory sticks also.
