Hey! Thanks in advance for your ideas and sharing your knowledge.-
I have installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bits. Thing is that I received that "your are running out of space" warning, so I made up some space. Deleted useless archives and stuff(temporal, internet files, memory dumps, old installers, and so on. I also moved some other files and got about 7 GB of free space. Now I am getting the message again, and did not installed anything.-
So, what I am asking is if anybody knows why it hapens.-
I have not downloaded anything to that drive, neither I am keeping another files there, like musique or photos or nothing(anything), for I wanted to leave it clean. I do not install programs there, also did not install anything since the last time I saw 7 gb of fresh fabulous free space.-
By the way, I know about those programs that show the amount of data stored where it should not(if we don't want it there, of course). I have read so far quite a few threads here in the forum, but did not find an answer to my question. I wouldn't like to take the time I took before(quite a lot) to get it cleaned(7 gbs! Was not a easy task!), and spen a month and see it full again. I'll be going back to xp! =D
Have avast installed, malwarebytes searching for those things and some spybots destroyers. Everything seems to be pretty clean.-

How come it got overwhelmed again? In a month or so!

Thanks!

Nope.-
I have not a 7 gb partition. The partition is 33 GB, and W7 is installed there, and that took about 10GB when first did it. The 7 gb I mention where free space a month ago, when I deleted many things. Which are the lost clusters now, free space gone.-

By the way, I didn't do ANYTHING, and now the free space is 3,5 gb(not even a 'reset'). So, even more confused. I'm kindda trying to understand how windows manage the system drive, free space and stuff.-

Say, hi again, sorry for the time without response.-
I have quite some partitions, The C partition is 33 GB and now it is about 2,25 GB of free space.-
Thing is weird, and the reason for my post. It happened all by itself, I did not erase anything, neither I run a program to do it nor anything was changed intentionally. I did not even reset the machine. So, I kind of want to know what happens. For instance, system restore. Where does it create the files? Does it delete them?
Why the free space back? At the very begining it was in 3,5 GB. It happened while I was writing in the forums and therefore I have been without much use of the machine, to see what happens. No data edition or surfing or downloading stuff. And now it's more than a GB off.-

Hey, thanks again!

Ok. So far I have 730 MB left, and the same environment. Except I have used a few times photoshop or played some games. Still don't know where the space goes, or how to prevent it.-
Thanks for all your answers, you can close the thread if you like for I don't think I'll be coming back in search of wisdom.-

Regards!
