Why is my computer terrible with some of todays demanding games? I currently own two custom built PC's that I put together. The one computer I have a problem with is the one that I have invested the most in. The specs:
Intel i7 4930k @4.2Ghz
Asus Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011 X79
Corsair Dominator Platinum @2133Mhz
Corsair H100i w/Corsair SP PWM Fans
Corsair AX1200i PSU
Corsair 480GB Neutron GTX SSD (Two in Raid 0)
EVGA 780ti SC w/ACX cooler in SLi

The monitor I am using is a Benq XL2720Z 1920x1080 @144Hz. There are a few games like Call of Duty Ghosts, Watch dogs, Call of Duty Modern Warefare 3, and Grand Theft Auto 4 that stutter and are unplayable. All drivers and updates are current are up to date along with latest bios for MOBO. Now, I have another built using lower specs and it can run every game including the ones mentioned without a problem! The specs for the other are:
Intel i7 4770K 4.2GHz
Asus Impact IV Mini ITX
Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB @1866Mhz
Corsair H100i w/Corsair SP PWM Fans
Corsair AX860 PSU
ASUS R9 290 Direct CU II GPU
Samsung EVO 250GB SSD (Two in Raid 0)

Could it possibly be the motherboard I am using?

Your cpu is running hot - 49C with Vcore0.861-1.316V (bit high) and fan 2300rpm (or is that pump speed?). Hot day?

My 3930k is 34C (idle), 1.144V fan 850RPM - its only 18C in here though.

Lower your Vcore by.05V if you've put it up.

Your H100 isn't working as well as it should.

Blow your case out - especially fans, filters, radiators and coolers.

If the temps don't drop you'll need to re-seat your cooler.

Also check radiator fan speeds and pump. We've had pump problems here before.

Well here is an actual picture of my rig. I'm using the Corsair 350D with Two Corsair 140MM AF fans in front but I feel like it might not be enough ventilation in this case. Should I consider a different case?

Also your 780 Tis, while good, are known to have horrible stutter issues in SLI in Watchdogs. GTA IV is absolutely horrible for PC, optimization-wise. The other games I can't speak to. I agree completely with i7Baby your CPU also seems to be running a tad hot; but that shouldn't (hopefully) be the cause of a stuttering problem. Did you make sure to uninstall any old display drivers before popping the SLI 708 Ti s in? I've had that problem with a friend with some of those games before. Running display driver uninstaller then re-installing Nvidia driver might fix it.

Got it. Thanks guys. I am going to pick up the Corsair 760T tomorrow and give that a go. As far as the nvidia drivers go, I've uninstalled the old ones and upgraded to the new ones and still the same issue. So my best guess its just a heat problem I hope.

Good luck! Let us know if the problem is still there.
