Hey Everyone,

I just got Tuniq TX-4 and I don't know which way to apply it for the best results. A lot of people seem to say the pea method but the website says to spread it, should I use the pea method or spread it?

Thanks

Solution
personally i have always used either the pea method or applying small dabs here and there across the face of the processor. i've never used the razorblade method.

the pea method doesnt extend completely to the end of the chip so might not give 100% optimal cooling efficiency but it does work and is certainly easy to do. the dab method i use now is likely a bit better but i have yet to take apart my heatsink to let you know how it spreads.

the razerblade method while taking the most time would also allow the best uniformity and spread so should offer the lowest temperatures. it may be a bit more difficult to get it right though so you may spend a little additional time getting it set up.

TLDR:

if you want the best temps, spread it...

if you slightly worse temps but easy then pea

Solution
Pea method. Spreading often results in having to pull the cpu and cooler apart again and cleaning off excess paste.

Don't overuse paste. It really only has to cover middle 70% od cpu when cooler is tightened on to it.

Arctic Silver is a better paste eg AS5.
