Asus Z-97 Deluxe: Led A0 and in the manual if I look it up: "IDE Initialization has started"

Hi,
What is the root cause of the mobo LED saying:
A0 and in the manual if I look it up:
"IDE Initialization has started"

And followed by a BSOD!
All the time.

Mobo: Z97-Deluxe
Bios: 0603
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K
O/S: Win 7, but and I have tried new installation as well. It doesn't matter since I got the problem all the time, no matter what.

Memory: Team Group Vulcan Red 16GB (2 x 8GB) 2133MHz CL11
(memory diagnostics performed - no problem).
SSD: Intel 520 180GB
HDDs: WD Velociraptor, WD Black Caviar
Cooler: Noctua C14
Chassi: Antec P193 V3 Performance One
Graphics: Asus Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II
Driver: Catalyst 14.4

The thing is that this a new build and I have been extremely cautious about ESD.
And I got the BSOD almost all the time.
The screen flickers with rainbow colors and the memory dump code is:
Stop: 0x0000001 and sometimes 116
Sincerly, from Sweden

First, you can try this: Shut your system down, then disconnect all of your drives except your boot drive, then restart. If it boots to Windows, then run all of your drive updates, then shut it down and reconnect your other drives.

If that doesn't fix it, shut down and disconnect all of your drives, including any optical drives, then boot to BIOS and set your boot sequence to USB, then shut the system down. You'll need to set up a USB thumbdrive (at least 4GB) for USB Windows Install. Connect your OS drive only, plug in your thumb drive, then restart your computer. It should boot to the Windows installation page. Complete install, update drivers, then shutdown, reconnect other drives, and fire it back up again.

If this doesn't work let us know, along with any error messages that may show up.

Hi,
Thanks for Your answer.

I had completely forgotten about this, sorry, but anyhow I was thinking that the solution should be posted even if it's an old thread.
I should have paid more attention earlier to "The screen flickers with rainbow colors"

The problem was a faulty graphics card that I replaced on warranty shortly afterwards and no problem with the machine ever since.
