In australia parts are expensive as a result of shipping from the u.s so i've decided to consider a pre-built, help me decide between...

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

System Components:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 4590 Processor
Motherboard: ASUS B85M-G Motherboard
Graphics: XFX Radeon R9 270X Double Dissipation 2GB
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (2x4GB) DDR3
SOLID STATE DRIVE: Samsung 840 EVO Series 120GB SSD
HARD DRIVE: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003
Power Supply: Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 600W Power Supply
Case: Nanoxia Claw Case - Red
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64bit
Warranty: 1 year return-to-base warranty on assembly, see individual product pages for warranty duration on each component

for $1,200 , expensive for a shtty build i know, but what can i do :(  this is what happens with the shipping prices

or i can build my own for the same price, but a much better graphics card (gtx 770 and also 16gb RAM):

System Components:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 4590 Processor
Motherboard: ASUS B85M-G Motherboard
Graphics: Galaxy GeForce GTX 770 GC 2GB
Memory: Kingston Hyper X Fury HX316C10FBK2/16 16GB (2x8GB) Black
HARD DRIVE: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003
Power Supply: Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W
Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case

As you can see, i've had to comprimise the SSD to keep within budget for better 16gb ram and gtx 770, not to mention that the pre-built comes with windows 8 and games and also warranty..is it worth sacrificing all that for better ram and gfx card? is the gtx even that much better than the r9 270x? i dont want ultra settings, high settings will be fine for me on most games

More about : decide pre built build

Always custom build
"same price, but a much better graphics card"<- Reason #1
Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W <- reason #2

You also forgot to add Windows to your custom build. And maybe you can compromise with this SSD for only $60 plus the 1TB HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
