As the title says, I am planning to build a PC with a i5 4690k CPU that has the Corsair H100i to cool it, so do I still need some thermal paste on the CPU when it already has a water cooler?

Supposedly there is already thermal paste on the h100i cooler, but you will always need something there for the heat transfer.

Yes, you do need thermal paste, no matter what cooler you use.

However, the H100i has paste pre-applied, so all you have to do it attach the cooler to the CPU, plug in the cables, and it will work.

I didnt mention the Kraken.
I said H100i, and I also said that all CPU coolers need some form of paste.
