Boot device led red, can only see the asus logo on screen

I'm having a problem with my asus motherboard. Yesterday after restarting my computer it only got to the asus splash screen and the boot device led was red. I can't get to the bios but everything else seems to be working fine. I've tried restarting the cmos and booting the computer with nothing in the USB ports however nothing seems to change.

Any help would be appreciated

you may have a faulty hdd lead have you tried to swap it for another lead also is your hdd powering up properly ? also if you use a dvd drive make sure the cable is in the white sata port. and to boot in to bios are you pressing the button on the motherboard
