Hello, for over a year now, I've been having an issue with a hard drive partition, my HDD had 2 partitions, my primary, a 193gb one, and a secondary, a 272gb one, suddenly, one day, the 272gb with the D: letter went missing, I've tried everything, from 3rd part software to some other unorthodox methods, I am currently using windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, can someone please help me? oh and by the way, the capacity missing is not unallocated, here's a photo of my disk management. https://imageshack.com/i/ndgn4np

You need to use partition recovery software, not file recovery. Is that what you used?

Can DMDE (freeware) see the missing partition?

My approach would be to examine sector 0. That's where the partition table lives. If sector 0 looks OK, then I would use DMDE to restore the missing partition. You would do this r-clicking the missing partition and selecting "Insert the Partition (Undelete)". You may need to select Edit -> Edit Mode.

Thanks so much fzabkar, your answer was brilliant, i managed to restore the partition using MiniTool partition wizard, which wasn't an option before undeleting the partition thanks to DMDE, thanks a lot, I had some really improtant stuff there.
