Best cpu for gtx 770 is i5 4th gen but you can improve by gettin 780(it wont make any real difference between the 780) still this is a great build for editting. Also get 4gb 770

Why are you pairing an amazing overclocking board with a terrible CPU cooler?

Define terrible please. If OP wishes for then i can revise the build with Noctua cooler. Anyone else here putting CM Hyper 212 Evo under Terrible category!

So your saying that the GTX 770 is not even a single bit better than the r9 280x? Well if you are saying that then your giving out wrong information and can get banned.

kinda right but most nowadays games aren't well optimized for ati cards so the nvidia gpu's are performing better, like watch dogs the game is so unoptimized for ati that even r9 290x will get dips on even 1600x900 res far cry 3 as well bf series assassins'creed and more.

Watch Dogs is pretty much the only example. That doesn't run well on anything, it's just particularly bad on AMD cards as Ubisoft screwed AMD over.

The R9 280x only beats the GTX 770 in low quality lol. So i rest my case your basically telling the OP to play on low quality to get the best FPS.

The 280X destroys the 770 at higher resolutions. Please just stop forcing people to burn money. It's not a nice way to satisfy your ego.

Well the R9 280x may beat the GTX 770 in higher resolution, but then he has to get multiple monitors. In which he has to burn money.

No they are equal at performance ffs yes ati gpu's are way more cheaper but why? Maybe cause of low quality? 2 of my friends had issues with ati gpu fans i saw some forums and its not only they. Nvm this is turning into flame war if some moderator can close this threat it will be good.

Go with a cheaper motherboard and different PSU would be my suggestion. If you want to keep the price around the same at least. I've never heard of that PSU before.

If you're not planning on running a multi card setup, these are enough for you to run the card and have plenty of room to overclock:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb9
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s12ii620bronze

If you want modular/semi modular ones:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620m
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii620bronze
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr

They will do just fine.

In regards to your question about the 4gb version, there is little benefit that you get from a gtx 770 4gb over the 2gb. In most cases you probably won't even use all 4gb, unless you go into a the higher resolutions and what not. 2gb is enough for ultra as of right now. Having the extra 2 gb would benefit you if you're running a game like skyrim with a bunch of high res mods, which will use up more vRAM.

@graphiics Please. You're making yourself look like a fool. The r9 280x does not destroy the gtx 770. It trades. There's a big difference between the two.

The gtx 770 is in the same area as the r9 280x, price point is the where AMD has the edge because it is priced quite lower.

1/1,000,000 have problems therefore we must NEVER BUY THEM. Are you dense or something? If you buy a Windforce GPU then it will be perfectly fine thermally.
