Sorry for the misunderstanding. That was what I originally thought you meant (as I have swapped optical drives for an HDD a few times myself), but when I Googled your model number, I saw that it didn't come with an optical drive, so figured you meant something else. Upon further research, I see that other models in the same series DO come with optical drives. So would I be correct in assuming there is a blank face-plate (bezel) that could be removed to insert (either) an optical drive (or HDD caddy) in your laptop? If so, is the needed SATA connector to plug the caddy into present inside the laptop? If so, one of these should fit, depending on the height of the slot it is to be mounted (slid) into...

There are options for both 12.7mm and 9.5mm drive bays. Also, the stock bezel on the caddy may or may not fit flush, depending on the shape of the side of your laptop. But if there is a cover on your laptop in place of where a caddy will go, it may act as a bezel that can be swapped for the one on the caddy. The bezel just snaps onto the caddy. As an example to make things more clear, look at the optical drive on this laptop:

As you can see, the bezel covering the optical drive isn't flat, but has an angle to it. The bezel on any generic optical drive or HDD caddy you purchase will come with a fully flat bezel that may not fit correctly in your laptop, and will need to be swapped out for the one from your laptop (if it IS a bezel, and not just a cover over the hole). Chances are that even if you can't swap the bezels because you don't actually have one on your laptop, the drive caddy would still work with the flat bezel it came with in place. But it just won't look the best.

Hope this makes sense and helps. I'm not always the best at describing these things.
