WEI doesn't even matter really. Don't worry unless you see performance problems in your software.

Have you downloaded all the Windows updates? In task manager make sure Windows has it spec'd as a 4 core CPU.

Pre patch Windows loaded up those FX chips as advertised; 8 core... But the performance was terrible; as FX cores are weak in general, but the 2nd core in each module is especially weak(shared resources). The patch helped a lot(now 4 cores, 8 threads) as the patch loads up the 2nd core in each module last(vs. sequentially).

Still... don't expect huge performance out of that old CPU. FX chips are a known bottleneck with high-end GPU's, especially in crossfire/SLI. However it is good at lite multithreaded loads and the purchase price is easy the wallet.

Not sure what u mean in the task manager make sure it has 4 opened task manager where do I exactly find that part as a 4 core?

A lot of people and a lot of benchmarks would disagree with you. In a lot of scenarios an 8320/8350 will beat an I5. In some workloads it will hang with an I7. I am not saying the 8320/8350 is better than either. But its not nearly as bad as what you describe. And you are paying a significant amount less for the 8320/8350.

My 8320 is measuring 8.1. I also have a small overclock.

Alright guys let's not turn this into yet another AMD vs Intel debate.

OP, download some temperature monitoring software. I would advise CoreTemp and HWMonitor in this current scenario.
Use CoreTemp to make absolutely certain the frequency isn't decreasing to random levels.
Use HWMonitor to make sure the voltage levels are fine and general temperatures aren't going over the rated limit.

You can also run the WEI test again, there's a little link for it on that page in the Control Panel.

For me, my 8350 is listed as 7.8 next to the Processor section.
Like someone said, it's a meaningless score, but it may tell us something else is going wrong in your system, such as throttling.

Windows 8?
7 only goes up to 7.9.

Although its a rubbish bench my lowly athlon scores 7.1 so it could be worth investigating temps, motherboard compatibility etc
