One thing you could do for a little bit of a swap around for more options in the future, completely up to you though:

Get a gigabyte windforce r9 290, it should do just fine, a little bit warmer than the tri-x I'd imagine , but shouldn't have a huge effect on overall performance, you should still be able to overclock if you want.

There should be some saved money from switching to the windforce, and use that money to put into a better motherboard so you can overclock a little bit better.
