Hi I have been having a lot of problems with my PC for instance on some games my requirements are higher than the recommended but then when I play the game I can only play it on low quality and I still get FPS drop / lag when I really shouldn't be ? I have to play every game on low quality even when I have better than the recommended specs. I get FPS drop and lag in games even like CSGO , League of Legends , WoW. I have already updated all of the graphics drivers and done all virus scans and stuff and all seems to be ok and I have a fast internet speed. There is definetley a problem tho but I can't seem to find out what it is. Anyone have any ideas to help me out or anything I can do ? Thanks.

Here are my specs -

Processor - intel(R) core(TM) i5--2500k CPU @ 3.3GHz 3.30 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) - 8.00GB
64 Bit Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate
System Man - MSI
Model - MSI-7681

Graphics card -
AMD RADEON HD 6800 SERIES
INTEL DAC (400MHZ)
CHIP TYPE - AMD RADEON GRAPHICS PROCESSOR (0x6738)

This may seem like a dumb question, but you DO have your monitor plugged into the gfx card and not the on-board video port, right? Some motherboards have integrated video and some folks forget to move the cable when they add a card. Btw, what 6800 series card do you have, HD 6850 or HD 6870? And what resolution are you gaming at?

If your monitor is plugged into the rectangular area on the back of the computer with all the ports; USB, audio, vodeo, LAN, etc... that video port is the integrated video. The gfx card should be mounted below that all by itself, and have a couple DVI ports on it... that is where you want to be connected to use the card.

If your tower is vertical, the onboard graphics are the port that is in vertical pos, and the graphic card is the one on the down side, with the ports like this: -- --

Yes, make sure to connect the cables always on the dedicated card.

Yes the cable is in that one and also the card is the HD 6870 if that helps , I literally have no idea why I am getting these problems.

Yes I have all of the latest drivers installed , I have been thinking it must be an overheating problem maybe take it into a shop to get looked at ? Would that be the best idea ? Any idea how much about it would cost to get an overheating problem fixed ? Thanks.

Depends on where the overheat problem is located. You could install a third party GPU cooler in your card that are around 50-75$.

I personally installed this on a GTX 560 which reached 80º on load, and now never goes more than 60º.
