Anyone,

Should I get FX8350 or FX8320 or FX6300 or FX6350 or FX4350? I have MSI 970a-g46 mobo. I heard it's not a good mother board for 125W cpu.

I have:
amd phenom x4 925
MSI 9701-g46 mobo
master cooler Evo,
4x2gb 1333 DDR3 ram,
XFS 550W PSU.
PNY GTX660 GPU

I am a gamer and want a pc performance as close to PS4 or Xbox one. I currently have amd Phenom x4 925. When I play watch dogs, it is so laggy and struggle when driving. The FPS went down to 10-20 FPS during driving. I am thinking that maybe cause of the CPU. That's why I am thinking to upgrade my CPU. I tried to OC the 925 but I can't get stable beyond 3.1GHZ.

PS. micro center has free Gagabyte GA78LMT/USB3 mobo when purchase FX6300 which seems a good deal.

Thanks for helping and advise,

Do not get an 8 core, the power phase design on that motherboard won't handle it and many people trying the 8 core model cpus with that motherboard have many problems with stability even on stock clocks, and the motherboard completely blowing out and catching on fire because it can't handle the power needed. The 6300 would probably be the best for the price and performance you can pair with that motherboard. You'll most likely be able to get it to 4.2ghz and up, my friend with the same motherboard paired with the 6300 was able to get that without even messing with the voltages too much.

Is anyone can OC to 4.2 or above on the fx6300 with this motherboard MSI 9701-g46?
I used the MSI OC Genie 2 to over clock the AMD ph x4 925. It gave me really bad result. I can't even OC over 3.1GHZ with that MSI OC genie2.
