Hi,

I have a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor. I have two AMD R9 290X. I ran 3DMark and I got back 5866 in crossfire and 5024 with a single card. Is it worth while to keep the second card since the improvement wasn't that great or is 3DMark not real world scores. Thanks.

David

Synthetic benchmarks may not have the results you're wanting if you're Crossfiring/SLIing, especially older versions or Beta versions. Rather benchmark a game and see what that scaling does.
And what Drivers are you using?

Have you tried comparing your PC's performance (on programs/games) when you are using just one and the performance when you are using two (crossfire). If there aren't any noticeable difference (real world performance) then it might be more economical to use just one.

Hi, thanks for all the advice. I'm using the latest ATI beta drivers. I can run most games fine with one card. I bought the second one relatively cheap for $325. I think I might hold on it. I eventually want to get a 4k monitor once the IPS ones come down in price.
