I purchased a usb extension cable with a booster (25ft) to connect my wifi adapter to it. It will work and then randomly disconnect for a second and reconnect (the connection of the usb adapter, not the wifi connection) This would happen at random times, while computer is idle or browsing the internet. Sometimes it would happen once or twice a day, other times it will do this multiple times a day. I thought, it's gotta be the cheapo booster on the cable. So I decided to purchase a 25ft usb cable without a booster. Well, now the wifi adapter can't even stay active. It will just continuously connect/disconnect. I tried a different wifi adapter and the same thing happens. I can however connect a flash drive to the usb extension cable and it will work without disconnecting no problem. Connecting either of the wifi adapters directly to usb port works without any problems. So is it the length of the extension cable? The fact that it's a cheaply made? Why is it not getting enough power? Any insight is appreciated.

By the way, I have no idea what section to post this in. So if a moderator can move this to a more appropriate section, that would be great.

Thanks all.
