How to know if video card is compatible with motherboard

Solution
I looked up a gateway that comes with that motherboard. It looks like that computer has a 300w power supply. Nvidia's recommended minimum power supply is 500w for the gtx 760. Not that it is going to require 500w, but not knowing how efficient that generic power supply is in your gateway I wouldn't trust it to run a gtx 760. I know it's not quite as powerful but have you looked at a gtx 750ti? That would most certainly run in that system without upgrading the power supply. If you decided on the 760 plan on upgrading your power supply as well.

Yes, it is compatible; The board has a PCI-E x16 slot and that's what you need in order to use the GPU (the revision of the slot doesn't really matter).
What power supply do you have? Your current power supply might not be able to handle that GPU.
