Bought a docking station so I could get info off old hard drive, but I dont seem to have an extra SATA port

Mine had both and I thought I needed to use both. Your right...just need the usb but I am trying to get it to open up my old hard drive and basically give me my old computer desktop and docs and pics. Still don't know what I'm doing wrong.

So USB from the port is connected to the computer now, keep the dock turned off, insert the old drive in the dock and turn it on, what happens after that? You should have documentation that came with the dock, did you read that?
