Ok I have a a10-6800k oc at at 4.5 ghz and im wondering which out of these two discrete GPU's I should buy either a r9 270x or a gtx 760, by the way before anyone tells me ill bottleneck I know I wont because a friend of mine had a 760 running on his 5800k just fine, if anyone could also tell me which version of these cards to buy it would be greatly appreciated.

well the 760 is better of the 2 card but the 270x is more performance for your money. personally id go with the 760. nvidia had better drivers/support. As far as which one it doesnt matter. just get whatever factory oced one is the cheapest.

Bottlenecking isn't a one-case-fits-all scenario. A bottleneck occurs depending on the game you're playing. Not all games make equal use of your CPU and GPU. There are many games out there that'll stress your GPU more than your CPU, and plenty of other games that'll use your CPU more. I can guarantee without a doubt that you'll run into a game that results in a noticeable bottleneck with your CPU being the culprit, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider buying an R9 270X or a GTX 760 -- you'll still notice the benefit of having a GPU that powerful, even if some games result in a CPU bottleneck.

Anyway, get the GTX 760. It's more powerful to be sure, and it has less in the way of price movement (currently, the R9 270X is more expensive than the GTX 760 due to pricing issues, even though it should be cheaper because it's the weaker card). Woops, only certain R9 270Xs are more expensive. Go for whichever then, but a cheap R9 270X won't hurt, though you'll be happier with the GTX 760 overall.

I'd buy the 270x. It's far cheaper and you still get good performance from it. The cheapest 760(http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn760...) I'm looking at that I'd get is 240, while the cheapest 270x(http://pcpartpicker.com/part/his-video-card-h270xqmt2g2...) is 170. The 760 certainly isn't worth the extra 70 dollars spent performance wise.

If you are ok with the money spend, I'd just buy a 280(http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr928...) for about 230. About the same cost, and I believe the Radeon 280 performs better than the nVidia 760.

If you buy a 280x, you are competing with the nVIdia 770 price-wise. Between those two, I'd buy the 770. I think you'll do just fine with either a 270x, or if you want to spend the money, a 280 or nVidia 760(I'd buy the 280 between those two though).
