I want to upgrade my girlfriends kids' computer, without buying a new one or building one from scratch. So my first question is could I just buy a motherboard, processor and graphics card (and power supply if needed) for him to be able to play games decently? (Skyrim, Minecraft and Elder Scrolls Online).

Im wondering what motherboard would fit in the case, or any tips on what to add to play games decently, he doesnt need to play on maxed settings either, just around medium is fine, so here is the link to what he has now

It's not upgradeable , and that case isn't worth using for any new parts.

HPs and Dell pre-builts are a pain in the butt when it comes to upgrading. They use cheap components and don't leave room for upgrading.

The description says the PC uses a mini-ITX board so you should be able to replace that with another mini-ITX model.

Does the case itself have cut-outs for expansion slots? If not, that's the end of the line as far as using discrete graphics in your upgrade goes without getting a new case.

Unless I am mistook thats an itx mothrboard. You would need to find out wether a ; the case has a slot for a graphics card in the correct position for an itx board with a pci-E slot. B; wether the case is actually big enough for a micro (m)ATX board, and wether there is a slot lined up for a pci-e graphics card etc etc and c; wether the power supply is big enough for a pci-E graphics card of your needs.
Personally. I usually start with a donor case, buy a quality branded power supply and move from there.
= Build a new one and sell the old one whole.
