I was playing Garry's Mod today and yesterday with a friend and he started placing a ton of turrets down. After a bit, my game started lagging just due to the turrets being there. It dropped me down to maybe 50 fps, but it wasn't too bad. As soon as he activated the turrets, my FPS went down to 1-3. His was still up around 30-40. This wouldn't bother me that much if it wasn't for two things: 1. His FPS was so much higher than mine even though we have quite similar computers, and no, he wasn't playing on low settings or anything. 2. My GPU barely hit 10% load and my CPU only got up to around 30% load. I was also only using about half of my ram (4/8 gigs). My GPU is the GTX 770 and my CPU is an i5 3350P. His GPU is a GTX 760 and his CPU is an i7 860.
My 4th core was on a little bit higher of a load than my other cores, but not by that much. The only other factors that could contribute to it are that he's running a pretty fresh install but I've only been running my install for 4-5 months.
EDIT: Apparently I had some viruses on my computer. I ran malwarebytes and it picked up 2 things, now all of the sudden my computer runs MUCH faster. Also, Core 0 is now the one with the highest load which I'm pretty sure is how it's supposed to be.
