So I bought a new CPU and it doesn't work in my system. It won't post. No beeps, no video. I worked through the troubleshooting thread here to no avail. I have reseated CPU and GPU, made sure everything is plugged in correctly, updated windows and all the most recent drivers for my board, and it is all compatible so I am completely lost and would appreciate some help. I can pop my old CPU in and it works just fine. The fans do spin when I turn it on with the 8320, though.

System:
Windows 7 64bit
Gigabyte 990fx ud5 board
Gigabyte r7 260x GPU
4 Kingston 4gb 1333 ddr3 ram
Thermaltake TR2 RX 1000w PSU
*AMD fx 8320 CPU* component in question
AMD fx 970 Black Edition (working CPU)
Kingston HyperX SSD 120gb

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry if I forgot anything.

I cleared CMOS and it is still just fans and lights but no beeps or video. Is there any way I can tell if it requires having the battery out over night, other than just keeping it out all night? If I pop my old CPU in and the clock is reset then is it safe to say the CMOS was successfully cleared?

You need bios F10 to support that 8320. Update your bios with your old cpu if your bios is not up to date.
