Hello,

I have always just played games on console's but am looking to buy a gaming pc as it seems a lot better. Anyway I do want to keep the price down as low as possible but want a computer where I could play any game that is on the market today smoothly.

The closest I can keep it to $1,000 the better.

Am I dreaming to get a computer that plays all games at this price?

Any tips on what to get would be appreciated.

Cheers

Here's something to consider.

This should be able to play games on higher graphics settings fairly well. You will have overclocking as an option in the future if you would want to mess with that.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($134.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 280X 3GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($269.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Rosewill Challenger-U3 ATX Mid Tower Case ($47.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($14.98 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) ($94.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1015.89

If you don't plan on overclocking ever, then you could go with a locked CPU, cheaper motherboard, and no aftermarket cooler but a stronger GPU.
