I'm looking to build a new PC because my old laptop broke and I don't want to spend money on it getting fixed because it gives horrible performance anyways. I was going to go with a Athlon x4-750k with a GT 610 but then people told me that getting a APU would be better for the games I want to play. I want to play casual games like Minecraft, source engine games( TF2, Gmod, half life), Rust, and War Thunder. I found a video of the A8-6600k playing Tf2, link to video--->http://youtu.be/r16u3ECyOHM .
It shows TF2 on high settings being played while recording at 50fps. I would also like to record some games because I would like to start a YouTube channel. The specs that were used in the video used 8gbs 1866mghz ram, I'm going to buy 4gbs 1866mghz ram to start out. I will upgrade to 8gbs in the future. I decided to get a after market CPU cooler so that I could over clock a bit since it's unlocked. My question is, how will it play games with the 4gbs 1866mghz ram?

For the APU, you need more than 1866Mhz on the RAM to use all the capabilities of the iGPU. For these games, the featured Radeon core should be enough, given proper memory speed. For recording and other video jobs, I am not sure if you would experience performance problems. And forget 4gb, since your memory will be shared, you have to bear minimum 8gb.

You can also pair a discrete card to do dual graphics, but some people have investigated performance issues and stuttering on this. The fact is, until DDR4, all the iGPUs sucks because DDR3 does not provide enough bandwidth.

Do you have more questions?

What's your country and budget? the APU route may not be the most cost effective bang-for-buck...

If on a tight budget, go with intel pentium g3258 (even better, i3 4130 if you can afford it) and pair it with at least radeon r7 250 (again, much better are r7 260x and even better r7 270x). If you like nvidia cards, get nvidia gtx 750. Make sure you get 8 GB DDR3, 2 sticks of 4 GB, 1600 MHz, dual channel kit. A quality power supply is a good pick as well, recommended xfx core 450w.
