I know that there's already a thermal paste pre-applied wih this cooler, I'm just not sure if I should take it off and use the Arctic Silver that I got couple of weeks ago. What do you guys think? Is the pre-applied thermal paste good enough to cool the 4770k?

The pre-applied thermal paste that the Corsair H100i comes with is good enough. If I recall correctly, it is Shin Etsu.

Better use the pre-applied thermal paste on H100i. It is good enough to produce thermal conductance between cooler and cpu surface and keep the temps under tab.

Thank you. I shall keep the original thermal paste it came with then! One more question, for installing this new cooler, should I clean the old paste with a special cloth and just water or what?

No water pl. Better clean the residue using isopropyl alcohol solution. You can use microfibre cloth along with that or use buds.

Is there any recommended % on the isopropyl? I've only got 77%. Good thing I have tons of micro-fiber cloths...

It doesn't matter what you use really. 90% or higher is recommended, but lower is fine. Water is fine too, but harder to clean with. You aren't cleaning the CPU while it's powered on, so it doesn't matter if it gets wet. Just let it sit and wait until it dries off.

Coffee filters work if you don't have micro-fiber cloths.

Alright, thanks. Let me go to Walmart to get some isopropyl alcohol.
