Hi Guys,

I bought a new RAM of Apacer 2GB 6400U PC2 DDR2 DIMM, my intention was to pair it with my Hynix 1GB DDR2 5300U PC2 DIMM, when I pair them together the PC just set the fan on but wont boot up. I took out the new RAM and restarted with the old RAM alone the PC boots up just fine, I then swapped the slots to check whether the slot{bank} is the one that is faulty by putting the old RAM in the place where the new RAM was and the PC started just fine. My PC has two banks for RAM.

I am using IBM Lenovo ThinkCentre Model 963674G with 32 bit Windows 7, Intel 2.0 Hhz Duo Core. I also put the new RAM alone in the bank of the old RAM and the problem persist, what should I do to make the computer accept the new RAM or is that the new RAM is incompatible with my PC or is it a dead stick?

Thanks.

Ok I will try that, but before doing this is it correct advise(just read online) to START with manual reset default settings(F9 KEY) in BIOS before proceeding to your advised removal of battery on the motherboard, if the first one fails then removal of the battery is the next step or am I following wrong advise with first procedure I am thinking of using first?

Nah, It didn't and I returned it with the machine and made sure they put in a new compatible RAM.
