Hey guys,

I'm currently running a dual graphics setup; AMD A8 6600K, 6670, 8gb 1600mhz, ASROCK FM2A75 Pro4, misc other stuff. I have 500w.

It's been a while since I was properly indulged in PCs, and I've gotten back to it. I'm looking to upgrade from a 6670 to a R9 270X this month. I know I will get bad bottlenecking, but is this card the first step to creating a better PC? If I replace the CPU, I'll be left with a 6670. So GPU is my first choice.

Do you think there is anything I should know, and will I see improved performance in CPU heavy games or not?

R9 270X will be a better route, will you see a improvement in CPU intense games? probably not. Increasing the ram to DDR3-2133 might help a little as APU's need the fastest ram. The max for a FM2 system right now is a Athlon II 760K with a nice OC around 4.5ghz it handles gaming pretty well, but don't expect to run Ultra in everything you just can't do that with any AMD CPU with current engines out.

Sorry for double post.

And ok, I heard that the ram affects the mhz of the APU or something like that. Thank you! I'll be upgrading soon. I might upgrade CPU later on.
