Hi, I previously posted a thread for help to optimize the build I was thinking about, but I have decided that it would be best to start with a fresh slate.

I dont mind going over or under the budget if it is efficient, but I also want to leave room for improvements further down the line. I would prefer and Intel Processor and dont need a monitor/mouse/keyboard.

I am fairly new to this scene, so if it isnt too much effort, it would be great if you could explain each pick (e.g. why a certain graphics card is the best for my build.)

The computer will be used mainly for Gaming, watching gaming streams. I would also like the rig to be able to accommodate a dual monitor setup.

Thank You for your help, its greatly appreciated!

p.s i've been told that an i5 processor is more suitable than an i7 processor for my specific needs, but which one should I go for: i5 4690k or i5 4670k

why an intel cpu?....in this price range, a fx processor will provide better price: performance for a little sacrifice on heat and power....and you wont be able to fit in a i5-4690k in this budget
1) 990FX motherboard for good overclocking etc. and it supports sli so you can add in another card as well
2)2133mhz cl9 fast ram
3)a hybrid instead of a HDD+SSD because windows 8/8.1 boot times are only 0.9 seconds slower on a hybrid than a ssd, if you're using windows 7 then this ssd http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-internal-hard-... with a 1tb caviar blue is nice
4)a gtx 770 instead of a 280x because both provide similar performance but he gtx 770 also has physx
5)one of the best cases in the price range
6) one of the best power supplies in the price range, non-modular though, the power supply cant run 2 gpus though, if you're going to be sli'ing soon, then a 750w unit is appropriate http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750b...

what do you think of this?

The build looks good but after I include the OS (windows7, forgot to mention that it would be included in the budget, sorry,) this build will be out of my budget.

Ye physx looks great!
Would this be a viable solution? would you make any changes or just go with a completely different build?

(understand that I would have to swap out to a Nvidia Gefore graphics card in order to get on Physx on this build, suggestions?)

Thank You!

you're sacrificing on graphics power to get that i5 in...why exactly do you need such a powerful processor?

Just for room to grow, because isnt a graphics card easier to upgrade a few years down the line? On other posts, people seem to reccommend the i5's alot.
I want something to play games at a reasonably high graphics level, watch streams (and sometimes tv shows/netflix) and some other basic stuff. I just assumed a good processor would make multi tasking on multiple screens faster. Then again as I dont know much about PCs and so I will go with what you suggest.

Again I appreciate that you are helping me, and i'm sorry for my ignorance on the topic.

P.s. i wouldnt mind going £30-50 over budget for a higher tier graphics card if you think its worth it.

spending more on the cpu than on the gpu will simply give you lower fps in games. yes you will have upgradability but in that case you're just better off saving a little bit more money and getting something so much better. and anyways with a 270x you wont be running anything butter smooth on multiple 1920x1080 displays, in this case a better gpu is what helps...what do you think of this? it goes slightly above your budget, has a processor that is only a little bit weaker than the i5 and can easily handle even a gtx 780ti without much issues, also it has a gtx770 which supports physx and is much more powerful than a 270x

EDIT: i forgot to mention, what type of games do you play? if you play thing like WoW, Skyrim, LoL, Kerbal space program etc. then the i5 will make a world of a difference, however if you play the usual Crysis 3, Bioshock, Metro LL etc. then you dont need the i5

hmm...in that case this might be a better build for you...the motherboard does not support sli so that might be something to take into account. in games like Crysis, Bioshock, etc. you might get slightly lower fps than my previous build but in games like WoW, LoL etc. you might get better fps. And, you can upgrade the gpu when you think games are becoming unplayable and the i5 will take on anything you throw at it. So its better in terms of upgradability

Just out of curiosity, how much extra would a compatible motherboard cost that allows for sli.

Z97 sli boards are quite a bit expensive,

this would be a very very good motherboard that allows sli http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97e...
and this is my personal favourite because of its killer looks and amazing onboard audio despite people saying that MSI has poor QC http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97gami...

just a bit of advice, if you're planning to sli couple of years down the line with another gtx 760 then thats a waste of money. Due to the fact that gpu prices dont really come down, so getting an updated card at that time would be a much more viable option, however if you want to sli a couple of months down the line so that you can game on high settings on your multi-monitor setup then 2xgtx 760s is not a bad idea
