I bought this GF at December 2012 and it worked mostly great. I just had some artifacts in some games (like Far Cry 3 or any other demanding game) that some "polygons got misplaced thus some object had very long horns" (sort of like this I don't know the exact term). Or part of the screen was blinking, with fullhd resolution it was rectangle about 2' of size. Quiting and starting the game again worked almost always, as it was not a big deal I did not wanted to return it.
But about 3 weeks ago I started the PC and monitor could not detect any signals. I switched monitor to iGPU and reset bios settings and I saw that my MB (ASUS P8Z77-V Pro) does not detect anything in its PCI-E slot. So I took out the graphics card, clean some dust out of it (it was not that dusty, case has quite good dust filters) and put it back and it worked until few days ago when it just got black in Windows and no restarts helped.
I tried the same "trick" and it worked just for 5 minutes, and when I did it again, the GF fans just blew at 100% and they never did that before. So I just took her out and switched to iGPU
I am going to return the card soon as I can, but they don't offer the same model anymore. :-/
Anyone heard about similar problems with HD7950 or do I have just bad piece?
BTW: My PSU is Fractal Design Newton 600W and its 12V rail is strong enough for this HD7950.
