Hello everyone!

I want to upgrade from my old Acer P249w to Asus PG278Q.
My current card is the Radeon HD 7850 which i want to replace with GTX770.

Is GTX 770 going to be enough for my gaming needs on the Asus PG278Q? I mostly play online competitive games on medium to low setting for better vision and 120+ FPS: CSGO, League of legends, StarCraft2, quake live and "future unreal tournament" which i probably gonna play on medium to low setting aswell.

Sometimes I play pretty looking games like Crysis 3, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 3, beat them once and forget about them.... I know that GTX770 wont be able to play something like Crysis 3 on 1440p with decent FPS so I don't mind using GPU scaling(the black bars) and playing them on 1080p as long as i get at least 40-60 fps on high settings or so.

I really want to get the Asus PG278Q however I can't afford a better card than gtx770 and as I looked around the interenet people keep talking about how 780ti, Sli or CF is needed to enjoy this monitor...

Do you guys think that with "my needs" I will be fine using a 770 and Asus PG278Q or should I just drop the idea of having a 1440p monitor?

Well to be perfectly honest, this monitor is meant to be played at 1440. If you have noticed, they are pushing that resolution alongside 144Hz and G-Sync. If you are going for a gaming monitor and want higher than 60Hz, stick to TN monitors. If you want great colors and do not mind some minor lag, IPS.

I will be honest, I have 3 Asus IPS monitors...the ones that cost about $120 on Amazon. I play Payday 2, Battlefield 4, and Watch Dogs if no problems. Do I noticed any lag...I cannot tell you because I honestly do not think I have ever noticed. I get so into the game that I guess I don't...

Well, since the monitor just came out it is hard to tell but from one of my friends who plays on a monitor at 1440p, he has told me the card runs around 56-62C on Ultra settings with Nvidia Game Optimization on. Will G-Sync produce more stress or will it make it less...I have no idea and I do not think there are any reviews on that yet.

It never effecting my game performance since I usually get top kills or in objective games, always a step ahead of the others. I think if maybe you stare hard enough at the screen you might notice the tearing.

You might be wondering if I have V-sync, NOPE. Never ever use it. This is just my personal experience and by all means I am NOT AN EXPERT. Just do not want to get any hate from anyone.

Hope this helps.
