New graphics card getting 2 beeps and no display/boot up.

Hi everyone :)
About a month ago I bought a new GTX 750 ti and as the title says when placed into my system it gives me zero display or boot up and 2 beeps. I have sent the card back to the store I bought it from, had them test out and send me a new one and still I have the same problem so obviously it doesn't seem to be a faulty card problem.

My system is a Dell 490 Precision with 8gb ram, 750w PSU and an Intel Xeon processor.
The card requires no aditional power as in a 6 pin etc.

The old graphics card I have (ATI 1GB DDR3 HD5450) works fine but it is very dated.

Things ive tried are a new PSU (also 750w) and updating my BIOS. But as I am not too experienced with updating PCs and ive yet to come across other suggestions I have yet to try out anything else.

I have read that 2 beeps can meant a RAM problem but as my PC works perfect with the old card I don't see how that can be a problem?

If anyone has solved this problem or anyone might have any ideas I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

I'd say more it's something incompatible with the way Dell did the PCIe express controller. 2 DOA cards is pretty rare odds. As said above, try it in another PC.

EDIT: Just googled the specs of the chipset in your pc, it's on PCIe 1.1. That's probably giving some issues. They say PCIe is supposed to be fully backwards compatible, but I know 1.1 broke a lot of compatibility and people have issues running SOME 2.0 or 3.0 cards in it.

Hey thanks for the fast reply. What does a DOA card mean?
This is the second card the online store has sent me and I had them test the replacment to make sure it was 100% working before shipping .

Yeah I have read something similar but didnt completely understand it. If this was the case would you think I am just out of luck or can an updated PCIe be installed ?

Oops missed the part where this is the second card. It's possible Dell never released a bios to make it compatible with newer cards. Once a system goes EOL(end of life) dell usually stops supplying updates. The last bios updates for this system was 6 years ago.

I tried it but as I cant boot the computer when it is in it just tells me it can't fine the hardware for the drivers

That would definitely be a sad ending to this! The BIOS I installed today was made in 2008 yes but was last updated 2012

Did you read the OP? He gets no display upon boot, or 2 beeps. This has nothing to do with drivers, the MB isn't detecting it at all.

sorry about that (thank god i am not getting paid to do this)

I guess being on 8 different threads at once is over my limit

I've written replies to a different thread in one and it made no sense what-so-ever. lol.

I have a Dell XPS 8500 and upgraded to a 750 Ti from a Radeon HD 7570, I installed the new drivers for the 750 Ti and the old AMD Drivers are still installed. I'm running this system as I type this an I have no issues with the drivers for the Radeon card still installed. So I would doubt that it is conflicting drivers.

I tend to agree with you. I know users who have the amd APU drivers and then also a nvidia card running also.

does that xeon cpu have any iGPU so that you can use the motherboard to power your monitor and see if your GPU is recognized that way. just a thought
