My PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'm curious if this will be enough to power GTX 760 SLI. I currenty have a HD 7750 with FX 8320 CPU.

More about : psu 620w power gtx 760 sli

Yes; you should be fine. I would advice that you do not overclock the CPU and GPUs much. But that is a good PSU and will run GTX 760 in SLI and the FX-8320.

No I don't think so. I recommend you get a GTX 780 or something like that instead so you can upgrade in the future and either way you'll need a better power supply (750W+)

Aye but I don't plan on upgrading for along time after this. I'm not interested in OCing, and as far as the 780 goes from the benchmarks I've seen there's usually ~20% better performance for the 760s SLI over the 780.

Well ... you may want to do a slight overclock to offset the bottleneck that the CPU has on GTX 760 SLI. Just don't do too much.

The SLI GTX 760 will be better but 1. You will have no room for upgrading in the future and 2. For now you won't see much difference cos both can run nearly every game on Ultra @ 1080p unless your running 3 monitors/4K. Also, you'll probably have problems with SLI as it hasn't developed completely yet.

Figure on @ 250w to cover your system, any OC, fans etc, 75w for PCIe, 75w for each PCIe power connector. That's a total of 475w. A 760 recommends a 500w psu ti cover, since psu output can vary between @420w to 500w. Your 620w psu actually outputs @580w. This is perfectly fine for a single gpu, but for sli you are looking to need 250+75+75+150+150, or a psu capable of an output closer to 700w. This of course is maxed out limits which you will never reach. To be safe, a good 700-750w psu would be my recommendation.

Where did all those numbers come from?

A GTX 760 will use at most 170W (not overclocked).

No. A GTX 760 requires 2 6-pin connectors. Seasonic SS-620GB has 1 6-pin and 1 8-pin. SLI not possible

Oh wow. So I guess you all recommend a 780 then? Then I'm back to my old debate, a r9 290 or gtx 780.. It's really hard to tell which I should go for since both sides have a lot of fan boyism over it.

EDIT: Do you guys still think I need a PSU upgrade even if I go with one 780? The PSU is new so an upgrade isn't happening... If a 780 won't do I assume neither would a r9 290... What do you think would be the optimal GPU set up for me then?

Wait if there's 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin doesn't that mean 780 is not possible?

Your PSU has.

PCI-Express Connector
1 x 6-Pin, 1 x 6+2-Pin

You also have 48 amps on the 12v rail which is enough.

Your All set.

Thanks very much. Should I be worried about bottle necking? And IF I do decide to OC my CPU, by how much is recommended? It makes me nervous because I don't have liquid cooling and I don't want to put down the life expectancy.

Okay. I'm very curious who to give the solution to... Is SLI not possible because not enough cables or is it because not enough watts, or both??

Not enough power or cables.

But it's a great power supply.

Ah. Well thanks guys I'd like to give it to chimera too but can't.

You guys convinced me to go with the GTX 780 so again thanks. She'll be a beast ;)
