So is it worth it?
cpu will cost about 20$-30$ more, and motherboard with z97mwill cost about 30$ more.
So is it worth it to pay 50$ more just for this new refresh?
Also what will I get if I buy this?

And does anybody know when NEW Nvidia or amd gpu's and intel's cpu's coming out?

More about : worth 4690k 4790k motherboard

I would not do a refresh. I have been sitting on my i5 2500k (4.8) just waiting for what will be the haswell-e refresh. The only upgrade I will make is to a 6-core CPU. nobody knows but I have read it may be in the next refresh.

Intel is just sitting on their asses milking every last penny they can. there are already 8-12 core server chips out there but without AMD pushing any limits intel is holding back.

here is the anandtech writeup. I would read through this and base your decision on that. they talk about the 6-cores that may come out.

I am assuming you are already on an i5-i7

copy pasted from the linked article:

The next piece of the puzzle is Haswell-E where many sources, such as CPU-World, are quoting that the low end SKU (an i7-5820K going by previous naming schemes) will be a six-core 3.3 GHz CPU with some amount of turbo. Historically Intel has charged roughly the same amount for the lowest Enthusiast CPU and the top Mainstream CPU, although this time the lowest Enthusiast CPU will have two more cores. So until Haswell-E is released, along with DDR4 and the X99 chipset, Devil’s Canyon might sit in the ‘should I wait’ category. But if we were looking at upgrading that main system today, based on CPU limited workloads, the i7-4790K is a well recommended choice.

That would depend upon which PC setup you currently have. Post your specs then better recommendation can be given.

Yes it is worth it to go for Haswell Refresh i.e i5 4690/i7 4970. This is the latest tech in the market and from the 8 years old PC's perspective this a definite upgrade totally worth it.

Also you can do this approach: - Buy H97 series mobo with i5 4670/i7 4770 and later on upgrade to broadwel CPU when it is released. In this scenario your H97 mobo will have support for that CPU

So H97 motherboards support new CPU's that coming in few months(6 and 8 cores)? And z97 don't support them?

No no it is not that way. If you want to overclock then get Z97 based mobo otherwise get H97 based mobo. This is the major difference in between both.

Upcoming 8 core CPU from Intel would be supported on 99 based chipset and they would be quite expensive.

What I referred to is the Broadwell CPUs which are scheduled from Intel. H97/Z97 both will support broadwell CPUs.
