looking to build a gaming pc under £400

got a nvidia GTX750 ti

cant decide if i should get a quad or dual core CPU

if dual core i will get an i3 if quad the FX6300 ..

most games in the future with be using multi cores so for future planning i guess the quad core is better ..

Solution
Intel I3 4130 which is very good price/performance is a 2 core CPU with hyper-thread which means 4 logical cores

AMD FX-6350 is a 6 cores CPU with comparable single core performance with intel I3 4130 but with better overall performance due to 2 logical core more than Intel.

They both are around the same prices but AMD is unlocked so overclockable. But a motherboard good enough for overclocking would be something around 80 $ while you could get a decent motherboard with intel I3 for something like 45 $ :

I think I would personally go with a 6 core FX6300 (not quad) for that build, something like this perhaps
