Hi. My chip fan was not moving at all when I tried to run my PC and it was extremely hot to the touch. It has been quite a surprise since it seemed to happen overnight; it was working perfectly before. I just want to find out if this has happened to anyone else before and to find any tips on how to fix the problem.

The fan is by Asus. I honestly have no idea about the exact model of it as this PC is so old so sorry about that.

I really hope to find some help.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

[strike]Seems like a bad bearing to me. A lot of fans are made with little cheap sleeve bearings anymore, which really kind of suck. If the fan was hot to the touch, you're going to want to remove it.[/strike]

Re-read, missed "chip fan". If it's the fan over your processor and it's not moving at all, it could be caused by a couple different things. Like Blackbird said, we need more info to go on, like motherboard model and processor used.
