how many hours of 90s quality music video can i get per each gb

So I'm having a 90s birthday party and want to have the old music videos playing along with the music. so what I need to know is how many hours of video I can get per gb? (remembering that most 90s/ early 2000s videos weren't the best quality)

there is no easy answer to that.

even if we know that its standard definition content... there are so many variables such as framerate, quality, compression and color depth that can make a huge impact on file size.

if you are figuring standard dvd quality.... about 1 hour per 2 gb

if its extremely compressed and poor quality video then as ss2 suggested it may be possible to get a few hours per gb. thats a big IF though.

look at your files.... pick one out and see how many mb/gb it is and how long it is. divide the two to get you a mb/min value and then you will have your answer.

They weren't the best quality because they were extremely compressed so they would download quickly with the bandwidth we had available back then., Today even the same videos are compressed with better compression, and they are much better quality. You should be able to get 2 to 3 hours of good quality video per GB.
