Hi

I need to know how to configure a new combination modem router to act only as a modem to a previously configured router.

I lost a Windstream Sagemcom modem during an electrical storm and I’ve now been given a Windstream Sagemcom (somewhere I saw this was a Siemens device) F@st 1407 N combination modem and router. The 1407 works well, but its range is limited.

On my previous Cisco/Linksys 610N router I had installed DD-WRT (with the power increased to increase the range) and another network install. Both of these communicate with several WAPs , which are wired into the 610N router.

I need to use my Cisco Linksys 610N router as before, with the new 1407 modem/router.

While I cannot find explicit instructions I think I need to set the bridge mode as indicated below for a different Sagemcom modem.

https://windstream.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/467/~/bridging-gigaset%2Fsagem-4300-modem

This is basically what the link says.

""How do I set my Gigaset/Sagem 4300 into bridge mode?
1. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.254.254.
2. Click on Login on the menu on the left.
3. Type in the word admin for both the Username and Password. Click OK.
4. Back on the menu on the left side, first click on Setup and then click on WAN Interface.
On this screen, click on OE BRG.
5. Select RFC-2684 Bridged and then click Finish.
6. To allow this change to take effect, click on the red REBOOT link as pointed out on this screenshot.

Once the modem finishes rebooting, your 4300 should be in bridge mode.""

Is this all I need to do or am I way off base?

This is a link to another Linksys Windstream modem set up. I'm not sure how this might in any way applied to me. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26734759-Network-linksys-WRT54G-router

Without advice I would attempt to set the bridge mode as indicated above and hope that would work. I would very much appreciate advice or links as to what I should do.

Thank you.
